Annual Construction Technology Survey Now Live, Big Response in First Week
The 2016 Construction Technology Survey, powered by JBKnowledge, is now live. Since 2012, the annual survey has provided key statistical insight into the technology tools, cloud adoption, data security, software integration, mobile policies, emerging technologies and ultimately the role of IT in construction companies. The 2015 Construction Technology Survey had over 2,000 respondents from the construction industry, making it a valuable resource for industry professionals wanting more insight on where they stand among their peers and competitors. The 2016 survey, launched June 28, 2016, has already produced nearly 2,000 responses, proving this year’s results will provide more insight than any previous report.
“We conduct this survey every year to help builders understand how their IT strategy compares to industry benchmarks and how they can improve. But we also conduct this survey to get builders excited about the trajectory of tech in the industry,” stated James Benham, JBKnowledge, Inc. CEO.
The 2016 Construction Technology Survey is presented in partnership with the Construction Financial Management Association, Mechanical Contractors Association of America and Texas A&M University’s Construction Science Department. The survey covers nine main topics: IT Department Budgeting and Staffing; Cloud Procedures and Security Policies; BIM Processes and Staffing; Research and Development; Mobile Technology; Software Integrations; Software in Use; Emerging Technology; and Data Integration.
“The CT Survey has become a great indicator of what the construction industry is doing with technology. This is important to us as we prepare students for their careers in the construction industry and look to solve the problems the industry will face in the future,” remarked Ben Bigelow, Assistant Professor of the Texas A&M Construction Science Graduate Program.
The 2016 Construction Technology Survey will be available to take until July 18, 2016. Those who take the survey will receive a complimentary copy of the 2016 Construction Tech Report to be published in Fall 2016.
