5 Ways the Chicago ConTech Roadshow Can Help Your Company Grow
JBKnowledge is busy at work preparing for the next stop in the ConTech Roadshow series.. Chicago, Illinois! After the success at the Philadelphia Roadshow, our speakers and exhibitors are excited to geek out about construction technology with the Chicago area attendees on August 22nd. An attendee from the Philadelphia Roadshow said “The entire day was extremely interesting and informative. There was tons of new information and deep dives into topics I thought I was well versed in. It was well worth the time investment.” Our goal at the Chicago ConTech Roadshow is to help attendees better understand technology and to show them how their company can implement tech to stay ahead of the game. Below are five ways the ConTech Roadshow will help your business grow.
1. Can’t Miss Networking Opportunities
Attendees of the ConTech Roadshow are construction professionals from the greater Chicago area, creating the perfect opportunity for networking with peers they may be working with in the future. In addition to time between sessions, we will also be providing a networking happy hour for attendees to relax and have productive conversations with other attendees.
2. LIVE Interactive Recording of the ConTechTrio Podcast
The ConTechTrio is the construction industry’s leading podcast, supplying hours of content every week that is both well informed and incredibly interesting. The hosts of the podcast include three experts in construction technology, including:
- James Benham, Founder and CEO of JBKnowledge, has extensive experience in the design, development and use of technology to improve efficiency. James is a sought-after speaker across the United States, Canada and abroad on business information technology, data security and innovative technology solutions.
- Rob McKinney, ConAppGuru and self-taught construction technologist, has managed safety, quality and training programs with a focus on mobile applications and device usage on construction project sites.
- Josh Bone, skilled in emerging software/application options forming the future of BIM, has become a proven leader in the best practices and methodology for integrating technology into everyday workflows for the AEC community.
The opening session of the roadshow will include a live interactive broadcast of the ConTechTrio podcast, featuring the “View of Technology from the C-Suite” with Guest Host Anthony Leopardo, Director of Strategic Relations, Leopardo Companies.
3. Educational Sessions From Top-Notch Experts
In addition to live interviews from the ConTechTrio, attendees can sit in on educational sessions, centered around the theme ‘BIM & Field Productivity: Using Technology to Make More Money, 5 Minutes at a Time’. These sessions will be presented by the industry’s top speakers, technologists and local construction professionals, discussing topics ranging from drone regulations and safety management to virtual construction and BIM implementation. This content is exclusive to the Chicago Roadshow and will not be seen anywhere else!
4. One-on-One Access to New Technology
Between sessions, attendees will also have the chance to visit the ConTech Showcase where they can speak with representatives from companies working in the construction technology industry such as DeWALT tools and BuiltWorlds. In addition to hearing about new technology, they’ll actually be able to get their hands on it and try it out. We’ve hand selected our exhibitors to include only the very best and most useful to construction professionals.
5. SmartBid User Academy Training Sessions
Whether attendees are long time SmartBid users, interested in how SmartBid could help them, or anywhere in between- the SmartBid User Academy can provide valuable information. These informative and helpful sessions will be led by Customer Service Director, Mark Fly. For more information on how the SmartBid User Academy can benefit you, check it out here.

Intern Bio
My name is Shelby Dumaine and I am a senior Marketing Major and Psychology Minor at Texas A&M University (Whoop!). I’ve been working this Summer as the JBKnowledge Marketing Intern and have enjoyed learning all about the technology that is revolutionizing the construction industry. One of my favorite moments of the internship so far was when our CEO, James Benham, let me try out the virtual reality technology we have here in Bryan, Texas. It truly felt like I had stepped inside a complete other world and I saw first-hand how incredibly useful VR is in all industries, not just construction!
