7 Reasons Why the Philadelphia ConTech Roadshow is Unlike Any Other Tech Conference

7 Reasons Why the Philadelphia ConTech Roadshow is Unlike Any Other Tech Conference

This year’s first of four Contech Roadshow series is unlike any other technology conference you’ve attended. Taking place on July 13th at the Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel, the roadshow will consist of only the best and up-to-date construction technology information you need to know!

1. The Contech Roadshow is a One Day Event

Unlike other drawn out conferences, the ConTech Roadshow has been condensed to only one day. We know that attendees live busy lifestyles and don’t want to miss family time or get behind at work, so we’ve done our best to give attendees the best information in the most convenient time possible. This was achieved by narrowing down information to exactly what is most important to know, without any unnecessary fluff.

2. Can’t Miss Networking Opportunities

Since the Roadshow will be located in Philadelphia, attendees will have the chance to network with other professionals in the Northeastern area who they can do business with in the future. The ConTech Roadshow is for the everyday builder who wants to network with general contractors and subcontractors in their area and learn about the industry’s most innovative technologies. Whether at our closing happy hour or between sessions, attendees will have time to discuss best practices, learn effective strategies, and diagnose your company’s IT struggles. Gain more insight on the industry from your peers and see the truth behind the statement, “Your Network is Your Net-worth.”  (Dr. Henry Musoma of the Mays Business School.)

3. LIVE Interactive Recording of the ConTechTrio Podcast

The ConTechTrio is the construction industry’s leading podcast dedicated to bringing you the latest news on rising technologies and how they’re affecting the construction industry. The hosts of the ConTechTrio include:

  • James Benham, Founder and CEO of JBKnowledge, has extensive experience in the design, development and use of technology to improve efficiency. James is a sought-after speaker across the United States, Canada and abroad on business information technology, data security and innovative technology solutions.
  • Rob McKinney, ConAppGuru and self-taught construction technologist, has managed safety, quality and training programs with a focus on mobile applications and device usage on construction project sites.
  • Josh Bone, skilled in emerging software/application options forming the future of BIM,  has become a proven leader in the best practices and methodology for integrating technology into everyday workflows for the AEC community.

During the closing session, you will have the opportunity to attend a LIVE interactive broadcast of the weekly podcast, with Guest Host Bob Synder, CEO of Binsky & Synder, where you can experience what goes on behind-the-mic. If you would like to listen to the ConTechTrio‘s weekly podcast, you can tune in here.

4. Educational Sessions from Top-Notch Tech Experts

In addition to live interviews from the ConTechTrio, attendees can sit in on educational sessions, centered around the theme “BIM & Field Productivity: Using Technology to Make More Money, 5 Minutes at a Time”. These sessions will be presented by the industry’s top speakers, technologists and local construction professionals, discussing topics ranging from drone regulations and safety management to mobile data security and BIM implementation. This content is exclusive to the Philadelphia Roadshow and will not be seen anywhere else!

5. One-on-One Access to New Technology

In between sessions and during meals, there will be time to visit the ConTech Showcase and see all of our exhibitors, from DeWALT to Triax Technologies, showing their newest developments in the industry for job site monitor, tool tracking, drone imagery, leading mobile apps and more. We have brought only the best in construction technology to provide attendees with the most informative and interactive experience possible. Not only will you see the tech currently in use on jobsites, you’ll actually be able to get your hands on it and try it out! This will also provide additional time to speak with the exhibitors about their companies and maybe even get some great swag to take home.

6. SmartBid User Academy Training Sessions

Are you a long time user of SmartBid, new to SmartBid, or interested in what we can do to help your pre-construction process? Yet another reason to come out to the Philly Roadshow! Interact and learn directly from the SmartBid team, led by Customer Service Director, Mark Fly, on how to make your preconstruction process the best it can be. You’ll also get the opportunity to network with fellow SmartBid users from your area and other construction industry professionals from across the country who will be sitting in on the ConTech Roadshow sessions. Visit our SmartBid User Academy page to learn more.

7. Limited Seats

We purposefully keep the number of seats low to ensure that every session is unique and personalized to the audience. This means there will be more time for Q&A with the speakers and more time for each attendee to make their voice heard. Claim your spot before seats run out!

Shelby Dumaine, JBKnowledge Marketing Intern

Intern Bio

My name is Shelby Dumaine and I am a senior Marketing Major and Psychology Minor at Texas A&M University (Whoop!). I am finishing up my first month as the JBKnowledge Marketing Intern and have enjoyed learning all about the technology that is revolutionizing the construction industry. One of my favorite moments of the internship so far was when our CEO, James Benham, let me try out the virtual reality technology we have here in Bryan, Texas. It truly felt like I had stepped inside a complete other world and I saw first-hand how incredibly useful VR is in all industries, not just construction!
