Last week, Trimble announced the purchase of the Network Mapping Group Limited (NM Group), a company that offers services across the 3D spectrum and is known for Caydence, an enterprise portal for 3D utilities information. Trimble explains that, “The acquisition of NM Group expands its energy solutions portfolio with high-value data modeling and 3D visualization services for the utilities industry.”

This article highlights how a startup, called Forward Labs, has created solar roof technology that is 33% cheaper than Tesla’s solar roof and can be installed in half the time. [INTERVIEW] Mostafa Akbari, CEO and Founder of HoloBuilder, Discusses 360° Photos and VR Technology on Job Sites
In the second half of the podcast, Mostafa Akbari, CEO and Founder of HoloBuilder, joined the ConTechTrio to discuss 360° photos and VR technology on job sites. Mostafa was born and raised in Germany, and received a Computer Science degree at RWTH Aachen University in Germany.
In the interview, Mostafa explains the limitations of 360° cameras, as well as, future software and sensor integrations for HoloBuilder. Mostafa and the ConTechTrio wrapped up the interview by discussing HoloBuilder’s virtual 360° tour of CONEXPO-CON/AGG with their Ricoh Theta S, HoloBuilder’s plans to work with Microsoft HoloLens, as well as, the announcement of HoloBuilder’s Multi-User collaboration.
