Doblet Battery Helping to Power Your Technology
Think back on the last time you went half an hour without checking your mobile device for new messages or the latest updates on social media. It’s pretty hard to do, isn’t it? The reality is that the majority of people are connected to the internet, group messaging or social platform during most of the day. According to Pew Research Center, “61 percent of Americans own a smartphone. Many still own a regular cellphone, with 91 percent of the adult population owning some sort of mobile device.” Serial entrepreneur Doktor Gurson was charging up his cellphone at a bar one day when someone offered to buy him a beer in exchange for borrowing his charger. This event is what fueled the idea for Doblet Battery.
The Doblet Battery is designed for the users of the iPhone 5s through the iPhone 6 Plus generations, and more importantly for frustrated business owners. During his research, Gurson was told that some public establishments are asked. on average, 15 times per day if they can charge a customer’s cell phone. Doblet works by having a network of internet-connected phone batteries that are then connected through an app that allows a customer to rent a battery to charge their device.
This new battery service is starting to pop up all over San Francisco. “Just out of a two-month testing period, Doblet has enrolled 100 bars and restaurants around San Francisco and it promises another 1,000 city businesses in the near future. Then it’s on to other cities.” When the service is requested, participating businesses give the customer a pre-charged Doblet battery along with instructions. A first-time customer must then download the mobile application. After getting the first charge for free, they would then have to decide whether to pay a three dollar fee for a day of unlimited charging, three dollars (yes, it is the same amount) for a month of charging use or thirty dollars for a one year membership. Doblet offers the first charge on them because they believe that they can hook the customers with only one use. Once the customer chooses the level of use they want and enrolls on the app, the battery will begin to charge.
Doblet has big plans for extending the variety chargers that they offer. Currently, they are primarily focusing on helping business drive traffic to their establishments by offering Doblet services. Businesses also have the opportunity to participate in revenue sharing by offering Doblet’s batteries.
Mobile technology is rapidly growing and becoming more innovative as developers are creating valuable new apps every day. It is no surprise more entrepreneurs are buying into quick phone charging technology and charging stations to keep up with consumers to offer them the best mobile experience. The future of mobile technology is very exciting, and I cannot wait to see what the next big thing will be.
