Innovative Technology of the Week | Space Robots
From Dallas, TX on Sunday, we were able to see the International Space Station overhead for several rare minutes. For that reason, this weeks’ Innovative Technology caught our eye. As we write, a Japanese-speaking robot is on it’s way to the ISS in an unmanned cargo vehicle. With the ability to navigate in zero gravity, the robot, named Kirobo, will be an experiment to study how robots and humans can live and work together. Kirobo’s main companion will be a Japanese astronaut headed to the ISS with six other crew members in November.
At a recent demonstration, Kirobo said it “hoped to create a future where humans and robots live together and get along”.
