JBKnowledge Intern Insight: David Gilman
Howdy!
My name is David Gilman and along with several other new interns I began working at JBKnowledge last week. I’m a member of the Texas A&M Class of 2017 where I am currently majoring in Computer Science. I’m looking forward to a very exciting summer here at JBK.
My role here at JBK is a Business Development Intern. Johnny, the other Business Development Intern, and I are responsible for helping to support our Support Director, Mark Fly, our Business Development Director, Chad Broome, and our Marketing Director, Liz Welsh, in addition to miscellaneous office tasks. So far most of my work has been related to organizing sales leads and helping Liz research opportunities for sales and marketing outreach. While these assignments have been interesting, I am also looking forward to getting deeper into the business development side of the business and having interaction with quality prospects for our products.
Working here at JBKnowledge for the last two weeks has been very interesting and exciting. The environment is very positive, yet everyone here is extremely dedicated and hardworking. My previous internships were at companies that were focused solely on producing custom software in a fairly small environment. My role there was Software Quality Assurance, so it is very interesting for me to be so removed from the operational and development side of the business but I am enjoying these new experiences greatly and I plan on continuing to develop my skills in these new areas. JBKnowledge has clients globally and being able to be a part of such a relatively large and uniquely organized business at such a transformative time in it’s growth is an opportunity for growth that I am very fortunate to have. This is especially true due to the President, Mr. James Benham, and his philosophy of always being ahead of the game in Research and Development which gives my fellow interns and I the opportunity to be exposed to leading edge technologies.
I am eagerly looking forward to the rest of the opportunities that await me this summer during my internship. I know that I will be able to learn a lot about business and business development from my managers and co-workers and I relish the opportunity to work at such a unique and driven business.
