JBKnowledge Intern Insight: Matt Bienek
While interns are leaving, and the summer is shutting down, I am very excited to announce that I will be staying at JBKnowledge throughout the school year. There have been a few surreal moments as I watch Johnny and David, two of my intern co-workers, leave the company to go fulfill other obligations they have acquired for the fall semester. Next week, my partner in crime, Sai Chitneni, will also be departing as he returns to A&M to finish up his Master’s Degree. I cannot believe how fast our summer went by. It has been a great three months and I have truly enjoyed working with these guys.
Although the summer flew by, many excited events have happened. This was one of my most fun summers by far, which was filled with weddings, beach trips, Crossfit competitions, and great memories. Now it is time for what I think is the most exciting time of the year, football season! In about a week, Texas A&M kicks off their season opener, and I think everyone around the office is just as thrilled as I am! With the redevelopment of Texas A&M’s football stadium, when complete, Kyle Field will be the premier facility in all of college football and a destination for football fans everywhere.
One of my favorite qualities that JBKnowledge possesses is that our company promotes staying active and healthy. A good portion of people around the office are involved in Crossfit, a high intensity fitness regimen. Researchers have found that being physically active is associated with 85 percent higher odds of being happy at the start of the study. It is something that most of our co-workers can relate with and I really do believe it is life changing.
It has been a great summer with learning more about the SmartBidNet software through the demos. This has helped Sai and I to get a full understanding of our goals and outputs. In short, our goal is to make SmartBidNet the most valuable resource possible for our general contractors during preconstruction by enhancing our Public Registry of Subcontractors Database and preparing data for our latest product, SmartInsight. SmartInsight will be the construction industry’s first online platform for construction qualification data maintenance and distribution – making prequalification much easier for both our clients and their subcontractors. I am excited to see where this company goes in the near future and can honestly say this it is a privilege to be a part of this team.
